Drafted 221st overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft
Defenseman for the Detroit Red Wings (1991-97)

Why he might be annoying:

His surname was extremely long and frequently had to be shortened to 'Konstantov' in video games.
He received little media exposure as a result of playing on deep Detroit teams.
He frequently averaged 100+ penalty minutes a season during his NHL career.
His nickname 'Vladinator' was a knock-off of 'Terminator.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He was a skilled defenseman who also brought a physical presence to his game.
During the USSR/Canada brawl at the IIHF World Juniors, he was the only known Soviet player who wasn't afraid to fight back (1987).
His career ended prematurely after he sustained life threating injuries in a car crash following the Wings Stanley Cup victory (1997).
The Wings dedicated their entire 1997-98 season to him and brought him out onto the ice to join in the celebrations when they repeated as Stanley Cup champions.
The Red Wings took his number 16 out of circulation following the accident.
