Why Sisters might be annoying:

    Before Desperate Housewives…
    A constant theme of the series was the sisters interacting with younger versions of themselves – the same age throughout – via flashbacks.
    Mitch was married to two of the sisters at different times.
    Three different actresses, most notably Ashley Judd, played Reed (Alex’s daughter).
    Another actress played ‘fifth sister’ Charley off and on starting in the fourth season, before Kelley settled into the permanent role.
    It never placed higher than the early 50s in the ratings; in fact, by its last season, in the early 100s, it was clobbered by Walker, Texas Ranger.

Why Sisters might not be annoying:

    There were almost no physical brawls.
    No one character dominated at the expense of all others.
    It allowed Phillips to escape the stigma of being known only as Mrs. Bruce Springsteen.
    It received eight Emmy nominations, with Ward scoring the Best Lead Actress honor in 1994.
    Hoffman herself had no daughters, making for an interesting touch.
