The Resume

    (1974-1982)
    Born in London, United Kingdom
    Line-up (1979-82):
    Peter Banks, keyboards and vocals
    John Russell, guitar and vocals
Andy Peircy, bass guitar and vocals
    Pete King, drums
    Re-formed in 2004
Recorded the albums 'Signs of Change' (1978), 'Laser Love' (1979), '80-f' (1980), 'Batteries Not Included' (1982), 'Live at Greenbelt' (2005) and 'AT2F' (2006)
Recorded the singles 'One Rule for You' (1979) and 'Der Komissar' (1982)

Why they might be annoying:

They were one hit wonders in both the US and UK, albeit with different songs ('One Rule for You' in Britain, 'Der Komissar' in America).
They broke up just before 'Der Komissar' became a hit.
Banks started calling himself 'Memory Banks' to avoid being confused with ex-Yes guitarist Peter Banks.
It didn't always work, since he is described as a former member of Yes in 'The Billboard Book of One-Hit Wonders' and, even more egregiously, the liner notes to one of the band's greatest hits albums.

Why they might not be annoying:

Their sound evolved from progressive rock a la Yes or Genesis on their first album to new wave on later records.
They were an opening act on tours by Queen, ELO and Van Halen.
'Der Komissar' was a Top 5 hit in the US.
'Der Komissar' was co-written by fellow one-hit wonder Falco.
