Why she might be annoying
She had to choose a made up name to credit herself by because an established actress had already taken her real name.
After auditioning unsuccessfully four times for her role in 'Seabiscuit,' she wrote a letter to the director pleading for the role and was eventually cast.
She said in an interview: 'What is going on with these 15-year-old girls like Hilary Duff? I don't know how they do it. I can barely keep my life together and I'm 10 years older, at least.'
She considers herself sassy.
Why she might not be annoying
She received a bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a graduate degree from the American Conservatory Theatre.
She won a Young Hollywood Award for Most Exciting New Face in 2003.
Critics have cited her as possessing the Audrey Hepburn style qualities of an old-time movie star.
She had the only major female role in 'Seabiscuit.'
