    Acted in 'I Married a Witch' (1942), 'Commandos Strike at Dawn' (1942), 'The Curse of the Cat People' (1944), 'The Two Mrs. Carrolls' (1947), 'A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court' (1949) and 'The Member of the Wedding' (1952)

Why she might be annoying:

    Her mother claimed she was discovered on a bus, but a neighbor who worked for a studio may have actually first noticed her.
    Her present renown is mainly based on a single film, 'The Curse of the Cat People.'
    Many of her parts were uncredited.
    Despite much critical acclaim, her acting career was over by the time she was 16.

Why she might not be annoying:

    She resembled Veronica Lake (and in fact played her daughter in 'I Married a Witch').
    She won the critic's award for Top Juvenile Performance in 1947.
    She specialized in serious roles in adult films rather than typical children's fare.
    She had polio as a teenager.
    She eventually became a teacher.
