Why Another World might be annoying:

Like many soap operas, there were many inconsistencies and a high cast changeover rate.
Some characters were played by various actors over the years.
There were creepy stories of rape, murder, and incest throughout the years.
For one season from 1979-80, the series expanded from 60 to 90 minutes and included special effects that were outlandish by soap opera standards.
It went from being the highest rated soap opera in the early 1970s to the bottom of the ratings by the time of its cancellation in 1999.
Budget cuts caused the showrunners to kill off a popular character leading to fan protests and has been pointed out as the final blow leading to its cancellation.

Why Another World might not be annoying:

It was one of the earliest television programs to tackle the controversial subject of abortion.
Brad Pitt was a cast member on this show early in his career.
The series periodically filmed episodes around the world from various locales.
The series won 22 Daytime Emmy Awards throughout its run.
It's famous rainbow rings opening titles was one of the longest unchanged television intro sequences ever having been used from 1966 until 1981.
It spawned two spinoff series: 'Somerset' and 'Texas.'
It sometimes had crossovers with other soap operas, such as 'As the World Turns' (which had the same production company as 'Another World').
