The Resume

    (1953-March 8, 2019)
    Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Recorded the single ‘Double Dutch Bus’ (1981)
Nephew of comedian Dewey ‘Pigmeat’ Markham

Why he might be annoying:

Early in his career, he recorded as Franklin Franklin.
    He was a one-hit wonder.
’Double Dutch Bus’ was partly inspired by his applying for a job as a Philly bus driver and getting turned down.
’Double Dutch Bus’ first popularized the izzle-speak that Snoop Dogg would make ubiquitous.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was a songwriter for Gamble and Huff’s Philadelphia International Records, penning tunes for the Spinners and the O’Jays.
’Double Dutch Bus’ is one of a handful of singles to earn two separate gold records from the RIAA, having sold a million copies in both seven-inch and twelve-inch formats.
His lawsuit against WMOT Records for failing to pay royalties on his hit record led to an investigation that revealed that WMOT was being used to launder money for a major drug ring.
