Why he might be annoying:

He never played a game in the major leagues.
He is extremely short tempered.
He went on a profanity fueled tirade to the media in regards to the way his team was treated in regards to undisclosed player developments (April 20, 2015).
He said 'fuck' 77 times during his tirade.
Despite having a solid talent core, his Reds teams notoriously underachieved during his tenure.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was a successful pitching coach prior to taking the Reds job.
He served on the managerial staffs of Lou Piniella, Bob Melvin and Dusty Baker.
He guided the Mariners to the best ERA in club history (2001).
He saved the Reds from doing an extensive managerial search, following the dismissal of Dusty Baker.
His profanity fueled tirade became a staple among all time coaching rants.
