Why he might be annoying
In September of 1887, he enrolled at Kazan University. In December of the same year he was arrested for participating in student protests and was expelled.
His older brother, Alexander, was executed for conspiring to assassinate the Czar (1887).
He became active in a Marxist study group (1893).
He was exiled to Siberia, because he traveled to Europe in 1895 to meet exiled revolutionaries (1897).
He was elected twice as president of the Russian Social Democratic Labor Party (RSDLP), first in 1906 and next in 1907.
He and the Bolsheviks blamed the Czar and the royal family for most of the countries problems.
He encouraged revolutions, where many people were killed by communist militants.
Why he might not be annoying
His father died when he was very young.
He studied the literature of the earlier generations of Russian revolutionaries and began to study law (1888-89).
He gained the license to practice law (1892).
He suffered from strokes beginning in 1922 until he died of his fourth one in 1924.
