Why he might be annoying:

His name is Elvis and his older brother is named Attila.
He sports a mullet.
He wore leather and shiny vinyl costumes in competitions and exhibitions.
He suffers the 'Curse of the Canadians.' Just as Brian Orser and Kurt Browning, he won the world men's championship and then lost at the Olympics.
Sportswriters relentlessly criticized his lack of artistry.
He was not accepting of openly gay US champ Rudy Galindo.
After getting Canadian skating legend Brian Orser to teach him artistic elements, he decided to do things his way.

Why he might not be annoying:

He is not the traditional (effeminate) men's skater.
He consistently landed the quad jump.
He has a black belt in karate.
His martial arts training helped his skating.
At the Winter Olympics in Nagano he won a silver medal despite suffering a serious groin injury.
When a reporter asked him if he was in touch with his feminine side, he exclaimed, 'Dude, I don't have one.'
His parents escaped Communist Hungary and Lithuania so that their children could be born in Canada.
He may compete in martial arts in the 2008 Summer Olympics.
