Why Mission: Impossible might be annoying
There were only two original cast members that stayed throughout the whole series, Greg Morris and Peter Lupus.
Martin Landau was not acknowledged as a full cast member until the second season.
There was no explanation on why the character of Jim Phelps took over Dan Briggs' position as the head of the IMF.
ABC tried to do an updated version of the show in 1988, but it was cancelled after two seasons.
Despite a Cold War atmosphere, it was never directly mentioned.
It was yet another entry in the 1960's spy craze on television.
Why Mission: Impossible might not be annoying
A movie series based on the show has been quite successful.
It had many political themes.
It won many Emmys and Golden Globes.
It has one of the most memorable instrumental themes ever.
It gave us the catch phrases, 'Your mission, should you decide to accept it...' and 'This tape will self-destruct in five seconds.'
