Why he might be annoying
He drinks and smokes.
Off the ice, he has an air of entitlement, as though he’s too good to work for what he has or could have.
He put on 30 pounds in his rookie Habs season.
During the preliminary playoff round with the Boston Bruins (Game 4, 2008–09), he responded to sarcastic cheers by the fans by tossing up his arms (the Habs were swept out).
Despite that poor playoff performance, Bob Gainey likened him to a thoroughbred. (More like a nag.)
Why he might not be annoying
He was a powerful minor-league player.
He wound up with the top job after Gainey traded away Cristobal Huet.
During his first month with the Habs, he was the highest-ranking First Star pick — enough to net him the Molson Cup.
He picked up a second Molson Cup in November 2008.
