The Resume

    (July 12, 1949-November 10, 2007)
    Born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Birth name was Donda C. Williams
    Mother of Kanye West
Professor of English at Clark Atlanta University
English Department Chair at Chicago State University (1998 - 2004)
Former CEO of West Brands LLC
Co-founder of the Kanye West Foundation (later the Dr. Donda West Foundation)
Author of 'Raising Kanye: Life Lessons from the Mother of a Hip-Hop Superstar' (2004)

Why she might be annoying:

She left her prestigious teaching post to be her son's business manager.
She facilitated her son's wild egomania and eccentricities.
The circumstances around her death (which occured the day after she underwent cosmetic surgery) remain murky.
The doctor who performed her surgery (Jan Adams) walked off his Larry King Live interview after being pressed for specifics about the procedure and the West family (2007).
She stars in an iPhone video game produced by her son in which she is shown riding a Pegasus through the gates of heaven to the sound of his music.
She was posthumously inserted into news coverage of Kanye West's public embrace of President Donald Trump in the Oval Office, after Don Lemon claimed to have on good authority that the singer's late mom would be ‘rolling over in her grave’ over her son’s ‘hard to watch’ behavior (2018).

Why she might not be annoying:

She had raised Kanye as a single mom from the time he was three.
She brought her 10 year-old son with her to China when she moved to teach at Nanjing University for an exchange program.
Multiple videos of Kanye singing his music for her have gone viral.
The songs 'Hey Mama' and 'Only One' were both written as a tribute to her by Kanye.
She is the namesake for Kanye West's creative content design company (DONDA, started in 2012).
Her death had a profound effect on Kanye, who struggled with depression and blamed himself for it for years.
Her death prompted Arnold Schwarzenegger to sign the Donda West Law, which made it California law for patients to receive medical clearance before undergoing cosmetic surgery.
She defended her son's outspokenness, saying: 'Kanye likes to think as a hobby and speak his own mind. He was always like that - he came out of the womb looking like he had that attitude.'
