He was a good friend of Khalid Shaikh Mohammed.
He took part in a hijacking of an Indian airplane on it's way to Kandahar, Afghanistan (1999).
He and Abu Faraj Faraj attempted to murder Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf.
He beheaded journalist Daniel Pearl and posted a video of the crime over the Internet (February 2002).
He disappeared after murdering Pearl and wasn't seen until the shootout that he was killed in.

He was killed in a gun battle with Pakistani troops (September 26, 2004).
His last words after being shot were reportedly 'I fulfilled my promise to Allah.'
He got what was coming to him.
