He made bomb explosion sound effects when playing hidden immunity idols to his tribemates' surprise.

Why he might not be annoying:

Sounds of bamboo popping in the fire triggered his PTSD at camp.
He single-handedly took out Lauren by playing his idol, cancelling all six votes against him at Tribal, and being the only one to vote against her.
In total, he saved himself with idols three times in a row at Tribal.
After marrying his second wife, he credited her with literally saving his life after combat in Iraq left him deeply traumatized.
He got to reunite with his buddies from the Marines at the Survivor Reunion.
