Why she might be annoying:

She was typecast as shy and dim-witted spinsters.
Her character in 'Eastenders' was written out after a year, when the producers decided there was no room for a character who was primarily comic relief.
She smoked heavily, which probably contributed to the emphysema that killed her.

Why she might not be annoying:

She served as a foil to several of Britain's most popular comedians.
After she was diagnosed with osteoporosis, she raised 100,000 pounds for the National Osteoporosis Society.
Despite the effects of the disease (which included shrinking from 5'8 to 5'2), she continued working in radio until her death, saying 'I don't want people to feel sorry for me, because I don't feel sorry for myself.'
