She lived a life of self-enforced celibacy.
She admitted to having crushes on Norman Kerry and Rudolph Valentino.
Her career was virtually non-existent in the talkie era.
She backed out of marrying studio agent Paul Kohner because her parents disapproved of his Jewish background.
She was rumored to have fainted while filming the famous 'unmasking' scene with Lon Chaney upon seeing his makeup for the first time (unsubstantiated).
