Why he might be annoying:

    His nickname was 'Raffles.'
    He was one of eight children.
    He said he got a pair of double-runner skates growing up, but quit wearing them after he took numerous spills the first time he wore them.
    His teams finished no higher than fifth place on average in the years following the Rangers 1940 Stanley Cup victory.
    He didn't leave the Rangers on good terms, as he was forced out as a result of a power struggle.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He worked for the Government of Canada's munitions department during World War I.
    He was one of four sons who reached the NHL.
    He scored the clinching goal for the Rangers in the team's Stanley Cup Finals victory (1928).
    He won the Lady Byng Trophy seven times in an eight year span.
    He later worked for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and was stationed in Lethbridge, Alberta at the time he was offered a pro hockey contract.
    He along with Bill and Bun Cook formed the 'Bread Line' for the Rangers in the 1930's.
    He was credited with introducing the center red line into the ice hockey rink design.
