    Head coach for Newfane High School (1975-78), Erie Community College (1978-82), Nazareth College (1982-83), Le Moyne University (1983-92), Canisius University (1992-97), University of Richmond (1997-2002), West Virginia University (2002-07), University of MIchigan (2007-19) and the Cleveland Cavaliers

Why he might be annoying:

    He was the eighth of nine children.
    He was one of the NCAA's more nomadic coaches.
    He was ordered to comply by NCAA rules at his son's basketball camp, by not being able to communicate with him in a parental role.
    He didn't get his first NBA head coaching job until he was 66 years old.
    He struggled to adapt to coaching in the NBA and professional players.
    He once called his players 'thugs' during a team meeting.
    He resigned as the Cavaliers head coach after 54 games (February 19, 2020).

    He is the first coach in NCAA men's basketball to record 20 win seasons at four different levels.
    He was considered very meticulous at his attention to detail by basketball pundits.
    He enjoyed the challenge of turning around the fortunes of struggling college programs.
    He fulfilled a lifelong dream by coaching at Canisius.
    He is considered one of the NCAA's most respected coaches in the men's basketball program.
