Why she might be annoying:

While in England, she spent time in jail for breaking windows and getting into a fight with a policeman.
She was bitter towards women who had not been active supporters of the suffrage movement.
After the Nineteenth Amendment was ratified granting women the vote nationwide, she retired from politics, declaring, ‘I think we have done all this for women, and we have sacrificed everything we possessed for them, and now let them fight for it now.’

Why she might not be annoying:

Alice Paul described her as ‘always more valiant than I was, about a thousand times more valiant by nature.’
She spent more time in jail than any of the other suffragette leaders.
When she organized fellow imprisoned suffragettes into demanding that they be given the rights of political prisoners, she was transferred to solitary confinement.
She led prisoners in a hunger strike until she was force fed by having a feeding tube shoved up her nostril.
When guards punished her by handcuffing her hands over her head to the cell door, the women in the cells opposite hers showed their solidarity by holding their hands above their heads and standing in the same position.
