    (January 11, 1926-January 17, 1994)
    Born in Russian Federation
Naval attache at the Soviet embassy in London
    Military intelligence officer
Had an affair with Christine Keeler at the same time she was sleeping with British War Minister John Profumo
Wrote the memoirs 'The Naked Spy' (1992)
    He was nicknamed 'Huggy Bear.'
He tried to use Keeler to find out from Profumo when American missiles would be delivered to West Germany.
His wife left him over his affair with Keeler.
Profumo's wife, actress Valerie Hobson, sued him for libel after he claimed in 'The Naked Spy' that he stole documents from the Profumo home while Hobson made him tea.
    He drank himself to death.
Mandy Rice-Davies said he was 'very handsome in a James Bond sort of way, very easy to talk to, warm, humorous, generous too.'
His friendship with Keeler's mentor, Stephen Ward, was encouraged by Britain's MI-5 intelligence agency, who hoped they might persuade him to defect.
He later apologized to Keeler for trying to use her to get information from Profumo.
