The Resume

    (April 17, 1981- )
Student at Georgetown University Law Center
Testified before Democratic members of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform regarding the Obama administration's plan to require employers, including religious institutions, to include contraceptives in their insurance plans (February 23, 2012)
Described a friend who had an ovary removed because Georgetown's student insurance did not cover the prescription birth control she needed to prevent the growth of cysts
Denounced by Rush Limbaugh as a 'slut' and 'prostitute' (February 29, 2012)
After several sponsors withdrew their ads, Limbaugh offered a half-hearted ('My choice of words was not the best') apology (March 3, 2012)

Why she might be annoying:

Chair Daniel Issa barred her from testifying before the full committee on the grounds that there was insufficient time to vet her.
As students, she (and the friend who lost the ovary) would be unaffected by the policy changes she was testifying about.
Georgetown already covers contraception in insurance plans for its employees.
Rush referred to her as 'Susan' Fluke.

Why she might not be annoying:

She spent five years working for Sanctuary for Families, a non-profit group aiding victims of domestic violence (2003-08).
If Limbaugh had actually read her testimony (as radical an idea as that may be), he might have noticed that she never discussed her own sex life or contraceptive use, making it difficult to determine if she is or ain't a slut.
In his pseudo-apology, Limbaugh claimed, 'I did not mean a personal attack on Ms. Fluke,' without explaining whether in his world calling someone a 'slut' is not personal or instead is not an attack.
The CEO of one of the sponsors who withdrew ads, David Friend of Carbonite, said, 'No one with daughters the age of Sandra Fluke, and I have two, could possibly abide the insult and abuse heaped upon this courageous and well-intentioned young lady. Mr. Limbaugh... overstepped any reasonable bounds of decency.'
Considering that Limbaugh issued his apology only when his bottom line was threatened, it poses the question: Who is the real prostitute here?
