Hockey Player

The Resume

    (December 4, 1953- )
    Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Drafted 14th overall by the New York Rangers in the 1973 NHL Entry Draft
Forward for the New York Rangers (1974-76) and the Boston Bruins (1976-88)
    Lady Byng Trophy winner (1982)

Why he might be annoying:

    His nickname was 'Nifty.'
His struggles with his defensive game influenced the Rangers to give up on him a year after he was drafted by the team.
He refused to wear a helmet for the majority of his career, until he was struck in the temple by a hockey puck, which nearly killed him.
Despite his accolades in Boston, his contributions fly under the radar with many hockey pundits.
He was overshadowed by Terry O'Reilly during his prime years.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was part of both one of the greatest and lopsided trades of the 1970's as he was traded to Boston for virtually nothing and established himself as a star player.
He recorded a hat trick in his first game as a member of the Bruins (1976).
He recorded 40+ goals and 90+ points for five consecutive seasons.
He, along with Ray Bourque, served as the Bruins co-captains during the first few seasons after Terry O'Reilly's retirement.
He remains a beloved figure in the Boston area.
