Originally barb wire, but was later transformed to concrete
Separated the city of Berlin into West and East Berlin

Why Berlin Wall (Destruction) might be annoying:

The Soviets erected a wall to imprison East Germans (August 13, 1961).
Some chunks of the Berlin Wall were sold as souvenirs.

Why Berlin Wall (Destruction) might not be annoying:

The Soviets claimed the wall was built to keep Western Berliners out of East Berlin, yet the only people shot at were people leaving the Eastern sector.
The Wall was officially destroyed, linking the city of Berlin and a symbol of the end of the cold war (November 9, 1989).
November 9th was the official day although worked started in June, as it was the 61st anniversary of krystalnacht, the day Nazi German declared all out war on Jews (1938).
Today, cobblestones are marked to show where the wall stands and the Brandenberg gate is still up as a monument.
Some of the Berlin Wall covered with graffiti is on exhibit in Germany.
A lot of the concrete was recycled to make roadways.
President John F. Kennedy made his famous 'Ich bin ein Berliner' speech in the shadow of the wall (1962).
President Ronald Reagan told the Russians, if you want peace 'tear down your wall, Mr. Gorbachev.
