Vocalist
    (May 13, 1966- )
Lead singer of Hootie and the Blowfish
Hootie released the albums 'Cracked Rear View,' 'Fairweather Johnson,' 'Musical Chairs,' and 'Hootie and the Blowfish'
Songs with Hootie and the Blowfish include 'Hold My Hand,' 'Let Her Cry,' 'Only Wanna Be With You,' 'Time,' 'Old Man and Me' and 'Only Lonely'
Songs as a solo artist include 'This Is My World,' 'Don't Think I Don't Think About It,' 'Alright,' 'History In The Making,' 'Where Were You' and 'Come Back Song'
    Appeared in 'Shallow Hal'
Contrary to popular belief, his nickname is NOT Hootie (Hootie was the nickname of a college buddy).
He has a loud, husky voice that makes him sound like a black Eddie Vedder.
His singing voice is almost as indecipherable as Vedder's too.
His website bio is primarily a promotion for his solo debut.
Although one of the most heard voices on radio in the mid-1990's, he quickly lost popularity.
He has a Miami Dolphins logo tattooed on his chest.
He fathered a daughter out of wedlock with the woman who was the subject of 'Let Her Cry.'
Many country music fans were unaware of the fact he was the frontman for Hootie and the Blowfish upon releasing his debut single 'Don't Think I Don't Think About It.'
'Cracked Rear View' was among the best-selling albums of the mid-1990's.
    He is unpretentious.
He said, 'What matters to us is making the best music we can. How we get there isn't that important.'
He worked to get the Confederate battle flag taken off the South Carolina State House.
He is an African-American singer with a white backup band from a Southern state (talk about racial harmony)!
He disliked being called 'Hootie,' but doesn't mind now because if people stopped calling him anything, that would mean he sucks.
He succesfully made the transition from rock to country music.
