    Drafted eighth overall by the Buffalo Bills in the 1987 NFL Draft
    Linebacker for the Buffalo Bills (1987-92) and the Los Angeles/St. Louis Rams (1993-95)
    NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year (1987)

Why he might be annoying:

    His parents named him after the Alan Ladd character in the film of the same name.
    He missed the majority of the 1989 season as a result of a knee injury.
    Despite being a standout player in the high school ranks, he wasn't highly sought after by top ranked universities.
    He was red-shirted during his freshman year at Penn State, in which he did not get to play during their championship season.
    He spent his final couple seasons on a poor Rams team that was transitioning after moving from Los Angeles to St. Louis.

    He was a member of two National champion football teams while at Penn State (1982, 1986).
    He fulfilled a childhood dream by playing for the Bills.
    He was a member of the first three Bills teams to play in the Super Bowl.
