The Resume

    (January 5, 1945-January 2, 2020)
    Born in Atlanta, Georgia
Quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals (1968-70), Washington Redskins (1971-72), Detroit Lions (1973) and the St. Louis Cardinals (1976)
Head coach for the Cincinnati Bengals (1984-91) and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1992-95)
Broadcaster for the NFL on NBC (1996-97) and the NFL on CBS (1998-2000)

Why he might be annoying:

His playing career was extremely unspectacular.
Despite having the lead for most of Super Bowl XXIII, he called a play which would eventually cost the Bengals the Super Bowl.
He frequently butted heads with Bengals owner Mike Brown near the end of his tenure with the club.
He drew the ire of Cleveland Browns fans when he shouted out over the public address in an attempt to calm a rowdy Bengals crowd 'You don't live in Cleveland, you live in Cincinnati!' in an attempt to diffuse the situation (1989).
He had an ongoing feud with fellow coaching peer Jerry Glanville.
His tenure with the Buccaneers was considered a disappointment, as he posted a 23-41 record in four seasons with the team.

Why he might not be annoying:

He is credited with introducing the no huddle offense into the NFL.
He guided the Bengals to the franchise's first Super Bowl appearance (1988).
Prior to Marvin Lewis, he was the winningest coach in the history of the Bengals franchise.
He had the balls to calm a rowdy crowd in Cincinnati, after the Bengal fans threw debris and beer bottles onto the field in protest of the officiating (1988).
He helped contribute to the Buccaneers future success by drafting future franchise cornerstones Derrick Brooks, Warren Sapp and John Lynch.
He was a member of the inaugural Cincinnati Bengals roster (1968).
