Despite his hockey credentials, as of 2021, he has yet to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
He died five days after his 46th birthday.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was a member of both the Rangers team (1928) and the Maple Leafs team that won the Stanley Cup (1932).
He holds the distinction of participating in two of the longest games in NHL history, both of which went six overtimes to determine a winner (1932, 1936).
He was the first NHL player to ever appear on the cover of Time Magazine.
He was bedridden after being diagnosed with arthritis and Bright's Disease in the final years of his life.
