Why he might be annoying:

His take on the Chulhu Mythos is controversial and radically different than Lovecraft himself. His stories are action oriented, showing humans fighting and winning battles against the Great Old Ones and their minions and frequently feature very unLovecraftian humor.
It took him seventeen years to write his breakthrough hit, Necroscope.
He get irritated about questions regarding HP Lovecraft's influence on his writing.
He was almost thirty before he started writing.
He didn't know who August Derleth was when he sent him his first short stories.
He thinks asking where he gets his ideas is dumb.
He thinks his Vampire World Trilogy is better than his famous Necroscope series.
He has had only one short story filmed and an option to film Necroscope lapsed after a seven year wait.
He was almost thirty when he started writing and only because he found guard duty in the military so boring.

Why he might not be annoying:

He published his first three books while serving honorably in the British Army as a military policeman for over twenty years rising from private to Warrant Officer and was in charge of training all military policemen in the British Army by the time of his retirement.
1989's Elysia tied together and concluded The Titus Crow, Primal Land, and Dreamland series in a more than satisfactory fashion.
The Titus Crow and Necroscope novels were clear metaphors for the Cold War.
    He is an excellent interview.
He listens to music, usually Ray Charles when he writes.
    He dislikes critics.
After scoring the lowest marks in English in his grammar school class, his teacher told him he should go to work in the local coal mines after graduating.
The Necroscope books is the most successful series in the history of horror literature.
He has sold zillions of books!
He has been married over fifty years and calls his wife, 'Silky.'
His 1989 novel, Elysia tied up and completed his: Primal Land, Dreamlands and Titus Crow series in a fantastic fashion.
