    He and Neil Young stopped working together after he castigated Young in a drunken interview (1974).
    He was arrested for assaulting Carrie Snodgress (1979).
    He was busted on an episode of COPS and was noticeably drunk during the arrest.
    Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham said of his work with the band, 'If I were to try to define his contribution, I'd say he provided the glue and the inspiration.'
    He won an Oscar for Best Song for 'Up Where We Belong.'
    He commented, 'When I look at a list of all the stuff I've done, it really does blow my mind. I really did a lot of stuff and nobody knows it.'
