Why she might be annoying:

    In the 1997 Boston Marathon, she hit a trolley track and fell.
    In the 1998 and 1999 Boston Marathon she came in second, losing by just hundredths of a second.

Why she might not be annoying:

    Despite her handicap, she competes in a sport.
    She has been labelled the 'Best wheelchair marathoner in history' by Sports Illustrated.
    She was born with spina bifida. Her diseased progressed and forced into a wheelchair in tenth grade.
    She graduated the University of Illinois.
    In her first marathon, she was the second woman to cross the finish line (October 1989).
    After her fall in the 1997 Boston Marathon and with a flat tire, she still managed to be the second woman to finish.
    She was selected #25 by Sports Illustrated for Women's Century's Greatest Sportswomen.
