The Resume

    (November 17, 1920-February 15, 1979)
    Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada
    Co-founder of TVC London (1957)
Animator for 'The Gerald McBoing-Boing Show' (1956)
Producer of 'The Beatles' animated series (1965-67)
Animator, director, and producer of 'Yellow Submarine' (1968)

Why he might be annoying:

The bread and butter for his animation studio were commercials and training films for the National Coal Board.
His abandoned projects included animated versions of 'The Adventures of Baron Munchhausen' and Shakespeare's 'The Tempest.'
Although 'Yellow Submarine' was a box office success, he lost money on it as he had agreed to make the film for a flat fee and had to pay cost overruns (to hire additional animators to finish on time) out of his own pocket.

Why he might not be annoying:

He gave Richard Williams his first job in animation.
He made unauthorized copies of the three-panel 'Polyvision' climax of Abel Gance's 'Napoleon,' which enabled archivist Kevin Brownlow to re-create the sequence after the original footage was lost.
He created the film 'Canada Is My Piano' for the Canadian Pavilion at Expo 67.
He received a special award from the New York Film Critics Circle for 'Yellow Submarine.'
