He is a lawyer.
He created the WNBA.
He is accused of being biased toward the large-market teams.
He allegedly fixed the 1985 NBA draft lottery in order for the New York Knicks to get the first pick.
He had a cheesy moustache during the 1980’s.
He was commissioner during the NBA's first work stoppage (1999).
He thinks the NBA should expand into Europe, despite the league’s failures of expanding into Canada.
Some think he rules the NBA with an 'iron fist.'
When asked if it was a unanimous decision to suspend Ron Artest for the 2005 season, he remarked, 'It was unanimous. 1-0.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He had humble beginnings working at his father’s deli.
He is considered to be one of the most powerful men in sports.
He turned a league that was in financial ruin and chaos to a league of unprecedented international popularity.
He instituted a salary cap in the NBA.
He revamped the NBA All-Star game, making it a festive event.
He was so successful that the NFL tried to lure him away as its own commissioner (he declined, 1989).
He participates in numerous public service activities.
