    He left his feet on the ground during many of his shots, long after the jump shot became popular.
    He had a 'soft' reputation his first few years in the NBA.
    He led good teams who played second banana to the Lakers of the 1950's and the Celtics of the 1960's.
    He was replaced as 76ers coach the summer after he won Coach of the Year.
    He played in a then-record 764 straight games.
