Why he might be annoying:

He led the American League in wild pitches six seasons (1983-85,1987,1991,1994).
His frequent outbursts of temper prompted pitching coach Roger Craig to say he should 'quit acting like a baby.' (1984)
One sportswriter declared, 'Even in the egocentric world of baseball players, few came off as self-absorbed as Morris.'
Approached in the locker room by a female reporter for an interview, he told her, 'I don't talk to women when I'm naked unless they're on top of me or I'm on top of them.'

Why he might not be annoying:

Kirk Gibson said, 'He's the best close I've ever seen. If you have a lead in the seventh inning and Morris was on the mound, it was a win. His intensity was incredible.'
He won the Babe Ruth Award for best post-season performance twice (1984,1991), a distinction he shares with only Sandy Koufax.
His 10 shutout innings in the final game of the 1991 World Series -- facing fellow Hall of Famer John Smoltz for the first seven innings -- has been called 'possibly the greatest Game 7 World Series pitching performance of all time.'
