The Resume

    (April 20, 1964- )
    Born in Palo Alto, California

Why she might be annoying:

She missed the Olympic gold medal by a tenth of a point.
She had an expression of dazed disbelief when she accepted the silver medal. (‘I think it was quite a few years before I could say, 'I did win the silver, I didn't lose the gold.’’)
She hated touring with Disney on Ice: ‘I wanted to skate, but not in a Mickey-Donald-Smurf show.’
She lent her medals to a local bank and they ended up disappearing when the bank changed ownership.

Why she might not be annoying:

In order to make her early morning training sessions, she went to bed at 8 PM and woke up at 4 AM.
Her coach said, ‘She always had a strong work ethic. In eleven years as a professional skater, she never missed a show, even when she was sick.’
She last performed in a televised special for breast cancer awareness (2007).
After 20 years, her missing medals were discovered in a safety deposit box (2004).
