    Nicknamed ‘The Iceman’ and ‘Mental Thermometer’ for his tendency to run around in the arctic cold in little more than just his shorts
    Reached the top Mount Kilimanjaro in two days and climbed down in another two days (February 2009)

Why he might be annoying:

    Submerged in ice cubes for two hours; swimming under a sheet of ice; running a marathon barefoot in the -26 (-15 F) deeps of Lapland; hanging by his fingertips nearly a mile above ground… and yet he says, ‘What I am capable of, everybody can learn.’
    And it’s not just ice, either — he can do the same thing in Death Valley heat conditions.
    As the first non-Tibetan non-monk to master tumo – a form of yoga literally translating to ‘fierce woman’ or ‘inner fire’ – he maintains it is possible for anyone to control their body temperature (hence, the ‘mental thermometer’).
    Even he isn’t immune to frostbite; his attempt to climb Mount Everest in 2007 had to be cut short due to a foot injury.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He is one of nine good Catholic children.
    He had no formal training.
    He was engaged to Katey Sagal for some two years.
    Columbia Sportswear used him as an anti-spokesman for its electric jacket (‘Wim Hof is a professional; you are not. Do not attempt.’)
    ‘Edmund Hillary’s ascent of Mount Everest was a testament to human achievement; my climb of Mount Everest in my shorts will be a monument to the frivolous, decadent nature of modern society.’
