Why he might be annoying:

He might be the most nomadic coach in basketball history.
He has never coached a team for more than six seasons.
He left both UCLA and Kansas on NCAA probation.
He left the Spurs halfway through the season to coach the Clippers.
He had problems with star players such as Allen Iverson, and his spats with them are well documented.
His nickname is 'Pound for Pound' (due to his initials lb).
He called time out, although he was leading by 10 with just 20 seconds left vs Spain in the Olympics (2004).
He is the first USA Basketball coach not to win any Olympic medal despite having NBA players on his team (2004).

Why he might not be annoying:

He brought dramatic improvement to every team he ever coached.
Before coaching the Pistons, his teams have had winning records 27 out of 31 seasons.
    His teams usually play unselfishly.
He's the only U.S. male to play and coach in the Olympics.
He had some success during his basketball playing days, despite him being only 5'9.
He coached teams to two ABA championships, one NCAA championship and one NBA championship.
He made Allen Iverson a team player (temporally), which is an accomplishment in itself.
He was ESPN sportscaster Tony Kornheiser's camp councilor.
