The Resume

    (1845-January 4, 1925)
Born in Midleton, County Cork, Ireland, Ireland
    Birth name was Ellen Cashman
Known as 'The Angel of Tombstone'
Established several boarding house-restaurants in British Columbia and Arizona territories during the late-1800's
Moved to the Yukon during the Klondike Gold Rush for prospecting, operating there from 1898 to 1905

Why she might be annoying:

Popular legend claims that a restaurant diner complained about her cooking, prompting fellow customer Doc Holliday to draw his pistol on him.
When he asked the customer to repeat what he had just said, the man allegedly answered: '[The food is' the best I ever ate!'
She and a group of 21 prospectors turned around after less than two days on a 100-mile trek across California in search of gold, in 1885, after realizing that they lacked enough provisions or water.

Why she might not be annoying:

Her family immigrated to the United States from Ireland at the height of the Great Potato Famine.
She led a rescue party for starving prospecters in a Cassiar Mountains gold mine (she was credited with saving at least 75 lives).
She raised money to build the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She raised the five children of her sister after they were orphaned, in 1883.
She was inducted posthumously into the Alaska Mining Hall of Fame (2006).
Her lengthy voyage from Nolan Creek to Anchorage received coverage from the Associated Press (1922).
She apparently ran a dog sled team 750 miles across the frozen Arctic, in her sixties.
