The Resume

    (December 31, 1943-June 23, 2010)
    Played with The Kinks, 1963-1969
    Author of the book 'Veritas'

Why he might be annoying:

He was the first to leave the band, citing both lack of success and the Davies brothers' quarrels as his reasons.
He sat out most of 1966 after suffering injuries in an automobile accident.
After he quit, the band went on to hit it big with 'Lola' (1970).
He and Ray Davies joined Dave Davies' band, The Ravens (1963).
In an interview, he said Ray was 'a control freak' and 'a pain in the ass.'
Originally, Pete wanted the band renamed The Pete Quaife Quartet.

Why he might not be annoying:

What was almost The Pete Quaife Quartet became The Kinks.
    He played a Rickenbacker bass.
He has one of only two non-Davies brothers vocals on a live rendition of 'Good Golly Miss Molly,' which can be found on bootlegs. (See John Dalton)
He is featured on some of the band's finest recordings, including 'You Really Got Me,' 'Waterloo Sunset,' and 'Shangri-La.'
    He survived cancer.
