At the 1992 Olympics, she broke away from the pack, crossed the finished line and raised her arms in victory. Only one problem, Australia's Kathy Watt broke from the pack earlier and finished twenty seconds ahead of her.
She is an elitist and refuses to befriend any of her competitors or teammates.
She married her coach, Patrice Ciprelli (1985).
