Voice Actor

The Resume

    (June 29, 1949-July 22, 2008)
    Born in Anaheim, California
Television voice work included ‘The Real Ghostbusters,’ ‘Jonny Quest (1986),’ ‘Taz-Mania,’ ‘Tiny Toon Adventures,’ ‘Garfield and Friends,’ ‘The New Adventures of Jonny Quest,’ ‘Animaniacs,’ ‘CatDog,’ and ‘The Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat’
Film voice work included Mr. DNA in ‘Jurassic Park’
Died in Los Angeles of complications from diabetes and arteriosclerosis (coronary-artery disease) at age 59

Why he might be annoying:

One of his most significant early jobs was a spot for L. Ron Hubbard's Dianetics.
He had a significant gun collection.
He was arrested by a SWAT team following a six hour standoff after he barricaded himself in his Sunland-Tujunga (L.A.) home, where three women also lived (2004).
He yelled a stream of gibberish at the police, with one of the arresting officers saying, 'He was so drunk, we couldn't tell if he was trying to do one of his voices or was just slurring his words.'
Close friends suggested that the actions leading to his arrest were triggered by boozing connected to a loss of voice-over work.
Most online search engines can’t turn up a better picture of him — not that it would have mattered much.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was mentored by Daws Butler himself, who lived to see him get his start and become the new voice of – among others – Yogi Bear.
He also became the natural successor to Jim Backus (as Mr. Magoo) and Mel Blanc (as almost all of the primary Looney Tunes characters).
He had the honor of voicing Bugs Bunny in the final short directed by Chuck Jones, ‘Carrotblanca.’ (1996)
He was also a straight announcer, with scores of ads and promotions under his belt.
And yes, he did have a good number of original character voices (including the Nick works of the day).
