He goes by his middle name rather than his birth name of McKenzie.
He was converted to an outfielder from a shortstop, after he sustained a shoulder injury at a baseball camp in high school.
His longest stay on one team was no longer then two years.
He obsessively cleans his bats in rubbing alcohol and retapes then afterwards.
His numbers tailed off considerably following his All-Star season with the Pirates.

He played baseball, basketball and football in high school, before focusing on baseball full-time.
His first two major league career hits were both doubles (2013).
He wasn’t afraid to sacrifice his body in order to make a game saving catch when called upon.
He was considered a reliable lead-off hitter by baseball pundits.
He set a Cardinals franchise record by recording 10 hits in 10 consecutive at-bats (August 23-25, 2022).
