    Aired on FOX Kids
Aired as 'The Adventures of Batman & Robin' (1994-96) on FOX Kids and 'The New Batman Adventures' on WB (1997-99)
Premise: The Dark Knight battles crime in Gotham City with occasional help from Robin and Batgirl
Features the voice work of Kevin Conroy (as Batman), Mark Hamill (as the Joker), Efrem Zimbalist Jr. (as Alfred), Bob Hastings (as Commissioner Gordon), Loren Lester (as Robin), Melissa Gilbert (as Batgirl), Adrienne Barbeau (as Catwoman), and Arleen Sorkin (as Harley Quinn)

Why Batman: The Animated Series might be annoying:

    Doug Walker fawns over it.
They almost cast Tim Curry to voice The Joker.
It gave the world Harley Quinn (and thusly Margot Robbie in Suicide Squad).
In a rare 'bad episode,' they recycled the Baby Jane trope which had villain 'Baby Doll' try to revive her sitcom career by kidnapping her former castmates (good idea, lousy execution).
Bruce Timm's least favorite episode is 'The Terrible Trio' although he never stated exactly why.
Its theatrical film spinoff 'The Mask of the Phantasm' bombed commercially and resulted in all future DCAU movies going straight to video.
It went through numerous character redesigns over the course of its various iterations (Catwoman, for example, was retooled completely by the animators).
In the fan favorite episode ‘Almost Got Im,’ the Batman Rogues gallery all swap stories about how they almost did the Caped Crusader in over a game of poker. Killer Croc’s iconic story went as follows: ‘I threw a ROCK at him!’ (entire table stares at him blankly) ‘Well, it was a BIG rock…’ (payoff made greater when its revealed that he’s actually Bats in disguise).

Why Batman: The Animated Series might not be annoying:

It sparked Mark Hamill’s career as an in-demand voice actor.
It birthed the entire DC Animated Universe, with all subsequent shows inspired by it stylistically and tonally to varying degrees.
It smartly incorporated elements of the hit Tim Burton-Michael Keaton film (such as its iconic score) without outright copying it.
Many of the performances delivered by the voice actors are considered to be the definitive versions, preferred over their live action counterparts (mainly Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill).
Harley Quinn – an original character to the show - was so popular that she not only became a canon part of the comics themselves, but a major cultural icon in her own right (how many other comic-to-television cartoons can you say that about?).
It marked the first major exposure of Two-Face, Mister Freeze, Clayface, Ra’s Al Gul, and Poison Ivy to audiences, fleshing out their backstories substantially.
It and X-Men: The Animated Series were the cornerstones for Fox Kids, showing that superhero cartoons could appeal to adults as well as kids.
IGN and Wizard Magazine ranked it the second greatest animated television show of all time, second only to The Simpsons both times.
TV Guide ranked it the seventh Greatest Cartoon of All Time (2013).
It won four Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Animated Program in 1993.
It had so many great episodes that pulled from the fifty years’ worth of the Batman comics’ storylines and history ('Batman: Year One,' 'Batman: The Last Arkham,' and 'Daughter of the Demon' to name a few).
