Known as 'The Colorado Cannibal'
He spells his name Alferd, honoring his tattoo, that misspelled Alfred, Alferd

Why he might be annoying:

During the winter of 1874, he lead five prospectors into the mountains near the town of Lake City CO, sixty-five days later only Packer came out of the mountains alive. That summer five mutilated bodies were discovered. All five men had been murdered, four with an axe to the head and one shot to death. the mutilated bodies were found with strips of flesh torn away from the men's chests and thighs. Packer said he ate the men's flesh to stay alive.
His story on how the men died constantly changed, and he really never told exactly what happened.
He was to serve a life sentence, but was pardoned by Colorado governor Charle Thomas.
He only served 17 years in prison.
After release from prison he became a vegetarian.

Why he might not be annoying:

Packer moved to Littleton, Colorado, where by all accounts he became a model citizen and was well liked by all of his neighbors.
He died of natural causes on April 23, 1907, and was buried with a military funeral in Littleton Cemetery.
His story brings tourist dollars to the town of Lake City, where people can eat at an 'Alferd Packer Grill.'
