The Bush White House claims that Clarke is making up the allegations to promote his book.
Some say that he is just a disgruntled man trying to get back at Bush for disagreements between the two of them.
His name is very similar to that of Dick Clark.
He earned a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1972 and a M.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1978.
He had a distinguished political career under five presidents.
He apologized to the families who lost loved ones on 9/11 for failing them (a very rare thing in politics).
