    Also appeared in the films 'So This Is New York' (1948), 'It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World' (1963) and 'The Phynx' (1970)
    He was married five times, divorced four.
    His fourth wife was his kids' nanny.
    He trashed a movie set while drunk (1955).
    Shortly after, he quit the Bowery Boys when the studio refused to increase his salary.
    He was originally on the cover of the Beatles' 'Sgt. Pepper' album, but was removed when his agent demanded a $400 fee.
    He died of liver failure from years of heavy drinking.
    He was president of his high school drama club.
    He was best friends with Groucho Marx despite his first wife, Kay Marvis, leaving him for Groucho.
    He got back $35,000 of his second wife's $50,000 divorce settlement when he successfully sued the private detectives she had hired for illegal entry into his home.
    His drinking problems began after his father (and Bowery Boys co-star) Bernard was killed in a car crash (1955).
