They are a one hit wonder.
They were together a mere 25 months.
Young stated they were a live band first and believed all their studio albums were 'great failures.'
Palmer was deported back to Canada twice for drug possession and eventually replaced.
Stills and Young had a love-hate relationship that extended from the group into Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.
Young hinted at a reunion and practiced with the original members in 1986, then just disappeared, later stating he'd 'forgotten.'
Along with The Byrds they helped pioneer the folk rock movement of the 1960s.
'For What It's Worth' was a Top 10 smash in 1967 and voted 63rd best song ever by Rolling Stone magazine.
Bootleg recordings of their live sets were popular among fledgling FM stations in the late '60s.
They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (1997).
