The Resume

    (January 29, 1915-May 11, 2002)
    Born in Grandview, Indiana
Birth name was William Bartlett Peed
    Children's book illustrator
Story writer and animator for Walt Disney Animation Studios
Wrote books 'The Wump World,' 'Goliath II,' 'The Ant and the Elephant,' 'The Whingdingdilly,' and 'Cyrus the Unsinkable Serpent'
Wrote the story treatments for Disney films 'Dumbo (1941),' 'The Three Caballeros (1944),' 'Song of the South (1946),' 'Cinderella (1950),' 'Alice in Wonderland (1951),' 'Peter Pan (1953),' 'One Hundred and One Dalmatians (1961),' 'The Sword in the Stone (1963)' and 'The Jungle Book (1967)'

Why he might be annoying:

    His nickname was 'Bitta.'
He switched out the '-d' in his name to a '-t' so his film credits would no longer read 'William Peed' (self-explanatory).
His power at Disney Studios exponentially increased with Disney's own growing disinterest in his animated projects.
He left Disney permanently after a heated argument with Walt over the direction of 'The Jungle Book.'
His autobiography focuses largely on his time at Disney, which he described as 'brutal,' and which also features several unflattering caricature drawings of Walt Disney himself.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was raised on a farm by his mother and maternal grandmother.
He got his start working as an 'in-betweener' artist for 'Snow White.'
He liked to give his characters inventive, memorable names like 'Capyboppy' and 'Whingdingdilly.'
His 'Autobiography' was named a Caldecott Medal Honor Book for 1990.
He was treated so thanklessly at Disney that he drew the evil Captain Hook in 'Peter Pan' to resemble Walt.
He arguably had more involvement than Disney in the artistic direction of 'One Hundred and One Dalmatians,' which turned out to be the studio's biggest moneymaker in years.
His treatment for 'Jungle Book' drew much more from the original Kipling story than the film in its finished form.
