    In an interview on the BBC, he was asked about what he thought about the Glastonbury Festival headline act Basement Jaxx and said 'They're cocksuckers-no offense to cocksuckers.'
    He scribbled over a 'Make Poverty History' poster signed by all the acts at Glastonbury and wrote 'Make Israel History'.
    Primal Scream was to fill in for Kylie Minogue at Glastonbury; while on stage, Gillespie said the crowd was 'a bunch of fucking hippies' and said 'did anyone come to see Kylie? Fuck you.'
    He and his band were told to leave the stage but refused, and their version of John Lennon's 'Gimme Some Truth' ended only when the plug was pulled buy security.
    During a over phone interview on the BBC, he swore several times and finished it off by saying 'mind your own fucking business.'
    When asked about his reason for his behavior at Glastonbury, he said 'Some fucking hippie robbed all my ale'.
    He drummed on Jesus and Mary Chain's legendary album 'Psychocandy'.
    He and Primal Screams guitarist Andrew Innes wrote all the songs for their hit album 'Screamadelica'
    A song with him appears on Primal Scream's album XTRMNTR.
    Screamadelica won the First Mercury Prize prize beating the Jesus and Mary Chain.
